Planning Board Meeting Agenda — February 25, 2025

There are two items of interest.

Adoption of the Leland Safe Streets and Roads for All Safety Action Plan

This is comprehensive document that has analyzed the various crashes within town limits and provides a series of recommendations for improvements. The memorandum and report can be found here. I think the report is well thought out with reasonable recommendations as to make our roads safer for all.

Zoning Map Amendment — Commercial to Residential

The Planning Board is being asked to rezone a single lot from commercial to residential. This parcel is in the same area that several others were rezoned. The staff report and recommendation can be found here.

I voted against the previous rezoning request as I believe the Town for its long term fiscal health and sustainability needs to protect business zoned property. The Town only last year took up the effort to zone this area as commercial.

The next meeting of the Board will take place on March 25.
