Cutting the Leland Proposed Tax Increase

In advance of the Town Council’s budget work session on April 9, I am pleased to have been able to submit detailed testimony to the Leland Town Council outlining various ways to cut the 70% tax increase in the proposed FY 2025 budget. The proposed amendments to the budget cuts the tax increase by 9.4 cents or more than $6 million while maintaining public safety, operational and infrastructure enhancements. In addition, I have made several other suggestions for future actions the Council should consider.
